Folk rebetiko guitar. An instrument built with emphasis on folk playing and rebetiko music. Also excellent for use in European or American styles. Its sound is drier than that of a Western acoustic guitar, with emphasis on mid and high frequencies rather than the low end. Ideal for solos and basslines thanks to its clear tone and the guitar’s strong attack.
Construction materials are aged and seasoned without compromise to ensure the longest possible instrument life. The folk guitar, also called rebetiko-guitar, bass-guitar, and other names, was played by many great musicians of earlier eras such as Giorgos Katsaros, Kostas Bezos and many others who left their mark on rebetiko and popular music of the previous century. Visually it resembles other types of guitar. The main differences from acoustic guitars are usually a smaller body and a different top bracing using parallel ribs instead of the X-brace. That distinctive bracing largely determines the instrument’s timbre and the characteristic presence it gives recordings.

walnut body folk guitar with the following specs:

Sound combination

Top A

Speaker A

Bright, clear sound with strong attack and focused midrange. The shorter scale (635 mm) provides easy playability and comfort for the fretting hand and can handle heavier string gauges (for example, a 12-gauge set). The relatively shallow body delivers a focused tonal character rather than deep low end.
This instrument features an aged spruce top, an Indian rosewood saddle/bridge, and decorative elements in walnut and maple. Very lightweight build aided by carbon-fiber reinforcements in the neck.
